About

Dr. Sarah Atkins

I am a licensed psychologist in the Twin Cities who provides therapy services to adults, children, couples, and families.

I completed my Doctorate at the University of North Texas in Counseling Psychology. In addition to developing broad generalist skills, I completed a unique specialization in Child, Marriage, and Family therapy within my doctoral training. I have served in various of roles in the mental health field including therapist, researcher, clinical supervisor, and university course instructor. As a therapist, I have had the opportunity to work with clients across the age span in a variety of settings including, community mental health, hospital, college counseling, and private practice. My job duties included providing psychotherapy, offering crisis therapy services, conducting psychological assessment, engaging in preventative outreach services, and offering clinical supervision to doctoral and master's level trainees. These experiences have fostered a deep respect and appreciation for helping facilitate the growth and change process of others.

Along with my part-time private practice, I work as a licensed psychologist at Club Recovery, LLC and Slate Therapy. Club Recovery is a clinic specializing in working with clients experiencing addiction and Slate Therapy is a general group therapy practice. In my role as a psychologist at these clinics, I have the opportunity to conduct therapy as well as coordinate their training program.

I reside in South Minneapolis with my husband and two sons. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, curling up with a good book, playing hockey, and being active outdoors while soaking up the often elusive Minnesota sun.
